EUROPIPE secures contract to supply large-diameter pipes for the AUGUSTA gas transport pipeline

At the beginning of July 2024, EUROPIPE was awarded the contract by bayernets in Munich to supply large-diameter pipes for the realization of the important AUGUSTA gas transport pipeline. This 40.5 km pipeline will create an essential connection between the Wertingen compressor station (Dillingen district) and the Kötz network node (Günzburg district). The commissioning of the state-of-the-art pipeline, which is designed for a maximum operating pressure of 100 bar, is planned for the 4th quarter of 2025 and will significantly strengthen the grid stability of the gas supply in southern Germany.

The high-precision steel pipes produced by EUROPIPE with an outer diameter of 28 inches (711 mm) are characterized by the highest quality and reliability. In addition to the anti-corrosion coating, which is applied by EUROPIPE subsidiary Mülheim PIPECOATINGS GmbH, some of the pipes are provided with a special GRP coating to ensure optimum protection during installation in challenging underground conditions.

Thanks to a comprehensive logistics concept, EUROPIPE delivers the ready-to-lay pipes directly to several storage locations on site, ensuring that the project runs smoothly. Special attention is paid to future-proofing: all pipes are designed in such a way that they are also suitable for the safe transportation of hydrogen. EUROPIPE is thus making an important contribution to sustainable energy supply.
